Now, entering my 18th year in the industry, I have managed to learn a few things along the way: Trust must be earned. Keep clients informed. If you pay attention to the “little things”, the “big things” turn out fine. And most importantly--- know what you are talking about!
Not surprisingly, I bring these same principles to my mortgage clients. I answer the phone and call right back if I can’t. Yes, it seems so trivial…but how often do we find others in life “just letting it go to voicemail and seems like forever to hear back”? Taking the personal responsibility to deliver effective, professional communication to all parties as needed, is one of my strengths.
There is no substitute for experience, expertise and attention to detail in a business that is built on details. I like it best when I can bring all that to a customer in a “personalized” approach—addressing one’s unique and specific needs in the borrowing process. That’s when it’s really fun! Interestingly, many of the people I have helped with a loan over the years have become good friends long after their loan has closed. Staying in touch, taking a personal interest, going the “extra mile” engenders a trust that makes it easy for former clients to refer me to others who are seeking the help of a mortgage professional. In my spare time I can usually be found on a local hike or walking trail, one of the many bike trails, paddling on a SUP board, being “Nama” to our combined seven kids and thirteen grandkiddos, exploring the local wine country wherever we may be, camping in our RV or planning our next trip to some tropical place with my wonderful husband and best friend Jim.
